ASOCIACIÓN INICIATIVA INTERNACIONAL JOVEN (SPAIN)

Asociación Iniciativa Internacional Joven (Youth International Initiative Association) is an NGO from Málaga (Spain) cre­ated in 2003 from a group of youths who after par­ti­cip­at­ing in inter­na­tion­al pro­grammes and activ­it­ies, con­cluded that these exper­i­ences had been very import­ant to change their life. Therefore, they decided to share them with oth­er young people, col­lect­ives and asso­ci­ations, to enhance the interest in par­ti­cip­at­ing in inter­na­tion­al pro­grams and exchanges, learn­ing lan­guages, real­iz­ing vol­un­tary work, rais­ing aware­ness, tol­er­ance and respect for oth­er cul­tures, etc. thereby con­trib­ut­ing to per­son­al and pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment of young people and adults. The mis­sion of the organ­isa­tion is to con­trib­ute to the com­pre­hens­ive devel­op­ment and improve­ment of the qual­ity of life of cit­izens, espe­cially young people. We work at loc­al and inter­na­tion­al level in the fol­low­ing areas of inter­ven­tion: (1) Participation and Volunteering; (2) Culture of Peace and Interculturality; (3) Gender Equality; (4) Sport and Healthy Life; (5) Art and Creativity; (6) Personal devel­op­ment and entrepreneurship.

 

ASSOCIAÇÃO DE ARTISTAS URBANOS E DE TRANSFORMAÇÃO SOCIAL — AAUTS (PORTUGAL)

AAUTS is an artist­ic and cul­tur­al asso­ci­ation, foun­ded in 2019 by a group of urb­an artists, event pro­moters and teach­ers who decided to cre­ate their own entity after par­ti­cip­at­ing in loc­al and inter­na­tion­al pro­jects that made them see how urb­an art can be a valu­able socio-educational tool of inclu­sion and devel­op­ment for the con­struc­tion of a more just, inclus­ive, cre­at­ive and innov­at­ive soci­ety. The organ­isa­tion’s mis­sion is to cre­ate artistic-educational envir­on­ments that foster the integ­ral devel­op­ment of young artists and raise aware­ness of the power of art, in its rela­tion­ship with the city, as a tool for empower­ment, inclu­sion and innov­a­tion. Among the main activ­it­ies developed by the entity, we can men­tion: (1) Workshops and Training Courses for young people, artists and com­munity lead­ers; (2) Production of rap music, videos and artist­ic per­form­ances on themes related to inclu­sion, com­munity devel­op­ment and social trans­form­a­tion; (3) Interventions in pub­lic space through mur­al­ism and graf­fiti; (4) Activities of edu­ca­tion in val­ues; (5) Constitution of col­lab­or­at­ive net­works with artists, asso­ci­ations, schools, uni­ver­sit­ies and oth­er organisations.

 

T.E.A.M — TRUE ENFORCERS OF ADVANCE MOVEMENT (CYPRUS)

T.E.A.M — True Enforcers of Advance Movement is a Cypriot entity that coordin­ates the first and only col­lect­ive centre work­ing on the four ele­ments of hip hop cul­ture (break­ing, MCing, DJing and graf­fiti) in the coun­try. The centre is loc­ated in the cap­it­al of Cyprus, Nicosia. The aim of TEAM Hip Hop Collective Centre is to raise aware­ness, pro­mote and dis­sem­in­ate know­ledge about hip hop as a socio-educational tool for the inclu­sion and integ­ral devel­op­ment of the pop­u­la­tion in gen­er­al and youth in par­tic­u­lar. The organ­isa­tion con­siders the free expres­sion of each per­son (free­style) as the true essence of dance and, there­fore, sup­ports each per­son to be the prot­ag­on­ist of their life, to take the ini­ti­at­ive, to learn how to learn and to devel­op their skills accord­ing to the path that makes them happy. Among its activ­it­ies and pro­jects, we can high­light: events and classes of break­ing and oth­er urb­an dances, work­shops and master-classes with renowned pro­fes­sion­als, inter­na­tion­al events for the pro­mo­tion of cul­ture, pro­duc­tion of theatre plays based on urb­an art and address­ing social prob­lems, guid­ance and sup­port for young people and the pro­jects “agents of social change”.

 

ASSOCIAZIONE CULTURALE ESPRESSIONE HIP HOP (ITALY)

Espressione Hip Hop is an Italian non-profit cul­tur­al organ­isa­tion that was born in the sum­mer of 2012, from an inform­al group of young urb­an artists, mainly break­ing dan­cers, who star­ted to meet and devel­op their activ­it­ies in 2007. It is based in the city of Alba (Cuneo) and cur­rently has more than 150 mem­bers of all ages (mainly teen­agers and young people), eco­nom­ic situ­ations, dif­fer­ent ori­gins and cul­tures. The board of dir­ect­ors is made up of 5 people and there is a team of 15 people who col­lab­or­ate with the organisation.
The organ­isa­tion aims to pro­mote all artist­ic forms of hip hop cul­ture as a tool to com­mu­nic­ate, open up and get to know each oth­er. They recog­nise hip hop as a uni­ver­sal lan­guage that can con­nect dif­fer­ent people, without any dis­crim­in­a­tion. To achieve its object­ives, Espressione Hip Hop car­ries out dif­fer­ent activ­it­ies such as train­ing courses, work­shops and events, as well as classes in break­ing, urb­an dance, graf­fiti, DJying, etc. The courses start dur­ing the month of September and run until the month of June, leav­ing space dur­ing the sum­mer months for a camp for chil­dren and young people in the area.
